Movement Confidence & Flare-Up Management
Learn how to stay active safely and respond calmly to flare-ups.
Movement Is Part Of The Solution, Not The Problem.
When you’ve experienced pain, it’s normal to question what’s safe.
You might wonder, “Am I making this worse?” or “Should I rest more?”
But one of the most powerful parts of recovery is learning to trust movement again.
Your body needs the right kind of movement to desensitize irritated tissues, restore normal loading, and build resilience, not avoidance.
Flare-ups are feedback, not failure.

Here’s What To Do During A Flare-Up
Pause, Don’t Panic.
Give your body a short break, not a full shutdown. Flare-ups often calm down within hours to a few days. Deep breathing typically can help in the immediate moment, but this is also what I'm here for.
Review Your Last Few Days.
Have you changed your routine like travel, sitting longer, sleep, or activity levels?
Identifying a possible cause helps reduce worry and makes it easier to pinpoint and adjust the issue.
Use Your Plan.
Go back to the movements or positions that reliably reduce your symptoms... the ones we identified in your sessions to be most helpful. Do this until we connect and implement necessary adjustments.Â
Ease back in.
Once symptoms start to settle, return gradually to your normal activity level. Don’t wait until you feel 100% to move again. I will guide you through this part.
When Movement Confidence Grows, Setbacks Shrink.
The more you practice moving through mild symptoms safely, the less power those symptoms hold over you.
You’re teaching your system that movement is safe and that awareness builds true, lasting confidence.
Progress looks like needing fewer adjustments, bouncing back faster, and spending more time doing the things you love.
Need Guidance Or Reassurance?
If a flare-up lasts longer than a few days or feels unclear, book a check-in so we can review your plan together.
A gentle reminder: Confidence in movement isn’t built by avoiding pain, it’s built by understanding it and staying consistent through it. Lean on me for support.
